Principles

Suitability

We welcome professional and non-professional artists and people from every field of arts practice to our courses, workshops and seminars; some of which are designed for beginners and others for those at more advanced levels. Numbers admitted for courses and events vary, but normally range from 6 to 15 attenders.

We encourage all enquirers to discuss their training and development needs with us, and will give advice about the right course(s) for their levels of experience. For example, we generally expect those attending our Artists' Retreats to have a minimum of 2 years' professional practice; while our Fundraising workshop is suitable for newcomers as well as for more experienced arts administrators.

Providers

Our courses, workshops and seminars are delivered by trainers with national and international reputations. All our trainers and facilitators have extensive knowledge of the cultural industries: many are also practising artists; and artists and arts professionals contribute both to the design of our events and to our expert panels.

Accessibility

Most of our courses take place within, or near, Coventry. All our venues have full access for users of wheelchairs. All are accessible by public transport; and we encourage car-pooling by our trainers and clients wherever possible. We also try to make our course materials accessible for people with impaired vision.

Costs

We keep costs as low as possible, to encourage wide use of our resources. In addition to concessionary prices for unwaged attenders, we also offer substantial reductions for people from Coventry and Warwickshire's Objective 2 area and from residents of the region covered by West Midlands Arts (please contact us for details). Bursaries may be available in cases of exceptional need.
